About Versed

Versed is a clean drugstore skincare brand that launched in May of 2019. You can find the products on their website, Target or Cult Beauty. The packaging is minimalistic and currently 92% recyclable. All of their products are under $22 so they are extremely affordable. The products are also non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free. Here are 8 of Versed’s best products.

1. Press Restart

This is gentle retinol serum is one of Versed’s bestselling products. Unlike most retinol serums, this one works well with sensitive skin. There is a mix of microencapsulated retinol, which sends the active ingredient deep down into the skin without irritating it. Natural retinol alternatives are included as well such as arophira and bakuchiol. Their bakuchiol is CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) certified. This means its use doesn’t negatively impact this precious plant species’ survival. There are also antioxidants such as chlorophyll, which gives the serum a natural green tint. It’s a non-irritating and effective nightly treatment that transforms skin texture by softening lines and wrinkles. The retinol serum supports healthy skin functions and evens skin tone, without dryness. The best time to use it is at night on its own, over water-based serums or under a rich moisturizer.

2. Doctor’s Visit

Doctor’s Visit is an instant resurfacing mask and is Versed’s newest product. It is good for aging skin and helps with dullness. First, this mask features many AHAs, BHAs and enzyme exfoliation. It gets rid of hyperpigmentation and boosts cell turnover for brighter, smoother, rejuvenated skin. Second, the lactic and glycolic acids dissolve the dull, dead skin and help fade dark spots. At the same time, salicylic acid is also there to minimize the appearance of pores and redness. It gives the skin a healthy glow because of the vitamin C-rich pineapple and papaya enzymes. These ingredients gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells that trap bacteria and sebum, while moisturizing and softening skin.

3. Just Breathe

This is a clarifying serum made for those who have oily or acne-prone skin. It was designed to clear acne and manage excess pore-clogging sebum. The serum is formulated with willow bark extract, niacinamide and zinc to calm inflammation, decongest pores and soothe redness. It also keeps the skin looking healthy and balanced.

4. Dew Point

Dew Point is a moisturizing gel-cream made for all skin types. This moisturizer is perfect if you want to keep your skin hydrated but don’t like the feel of traditional cream textures. The lightweight gel-cream formula with a jelly-like texture absorbs instantly and disappears into your skin. It leaves the skin feeling refreshed, never greasy. It’s ideal for those warmer months when heavier moisturizers tend to weigh you down—or simply if you deal with oily, breakout-prone skin on a daily basis. Sodium hyaluronate (similar to hyaluronic acid as it helps draw in and retain moisture in the skin) and aloe leaf juice are also there to hydrate. Natural antioxidants found in green tea are present as well to soothe skin, even skin tone and get rid of inflammation.

5. Guards Up

Versed’s Guards Up is also a great product, it is a 15.2% zinc oxide daily mineral sunscreen board spectrum with SPF 35. This sunscreen provides invisible, three-way protection against environmental pollution, electronic pollution (from screen time) and sun protection. Its oil-free formula with a creamy texture has a natural finish and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin. The zinc oxide (the safest SPF active available for our bodies and our oceans) works at the skin’s surface to physically prevent UVA and UVB rays from penetrating your skin. It helps block HEV (high energy visible) light as well. Antioxidants are included to fight off the environmental and blue light damage.

6. Weekend Glow

Weekend Glow is a daily brightening solution made for aging, acne-prone or dull skin. This is a powerful brightening toner for uneven skin tone, specifically dark spots and acne scars. It works for treating hyperpigmentation, this exfoliating treatment features a four-acid complex with natural skin-brighteners like kojic and azelaic acid, AHAs, and bearberry extract. The extract is an alternative to hydroquinone, a powerful brightening ingredient that can have adverse effects on darker skin tones—along with Vitamin C. It even offers many benefits for those with troubled pores. It’s gentle enough to use daily and delivers visible tone and texture results.

7. Day Dissolve

Another bestseller is the Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm, made for all skin types. The balm is formulated with eucalyptus which is an antioxidant and also anti-inflammatory. Clove leaf oil is also there to prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This face wash-like balm form melts away makeup and impurities without stripping moisture from your skin. As you massage it into your skin, the oil-based formula softens to create a light, gentle milk that rinses clean with no oily residue as well. It’s perfect for those who love double-cleansing.

8. Game Over

Game Over is a 10% sulfur acne drying treatment made for problem skin. This treatment is good to use on whiteheads and blackheads as well. The sulfur is also there as well to treat and prevent blemishes by absorbing excess oil and exfoliating away dead cells. This unclogs pores, all without stripping the skin. Formulated with bentonite and kaolin clay, this cream stays put and you don’t even need to use any cotton swabs.
